As Watch Party Continues... Of Light And Shadow...

Bourne Weekend Watch Party

We just finished the first feature in our watch party: The Bourne Identity and of course it was as always, a great thrill to watch again. It always somehow feels like the first time.

At 13:00 EST today, we'll resume with The Bourne Supremacy. We're watching it on Prime Video and technically, we're not centrally broadcasting it (for licensing and legal reasons), but sharing the time we view the movie and others who have it can watch theirs at the same time, and together we all have a giant party watching the same movie.

Of Light And Shadow - The Two Davids Of Darkness

The latest chapter of The Butterfly Dragon: Way Of The Warrior will explore many thematic ideas closely associated with the work of dark visionary David Lynch, who recently departed this plane of existence for those beyond.

Mr. Lynch paved the way for modern cinema and television to explore ideas commonly associated with the ethos of light and darkness (especially the shadow work of the soul), and fearlessly so, freeing us from the tyranny of our fear of our own unknown, while making it scarier than ever. His ideas have inspired the likes of Chris Carter (creator of The X-Files) and Alex Proyas (director of Dark City) to name a few, not to mention, his hallmark lighting and cinematography can be found in just about every horror movie to come along after the era of his series Twin Peaks.

Just when we get a grip on how things should be with regard to the dichotomy of society, morality and the desires of the individual, we're faced with the consequences when our attempt to coral the direction of society ends up becoming the problem itself, especially where it collides with the ambitions and dark desires of one group of the few versus another.

Hencely so, the chapter will be dedicated to two visionaries in this regard, the two Davids of Darkness: David Lynch and of course, fellow Canadian David Cronenberg, who is still with us, carrying the shadow torch of biological darkness high in his hands.

Writing will resume possibly Saturday January 18, or by latest, Monday January 20 as we see this chapter come to life where the sister of light seeks to confront the sister of darkness.
