Sorry I Missed The Reunion At The Science Centre BBQ...

You know, its ironic when you suggest a reunion to your friends, and then when that time and date comes, you don't show.

Well, that's exactly what I did this past Saturday (July 13, 2024) when I was supposed to meet up with a large group of friends for a reunion, perhaps the first big one in about fifteen to twenty years and at the same place we used to have outdoor barbecues back in our late teens, early twenties back in the late 1980s.

1989/1990 - Some of my friends and I. I'll mention their names, in no particular order: Brenda J., Karen H., Jerry, Joel, Darryl, Danny. I'm Brian, second from the left at around age 19, and after having ridden my bicycle 200 km to get to where we were camping that year. I've ridden up there about six or seven times, and done other Ontario rides to other places that were about the same distance.

So, to those same people who I missed on that day, I apologize as I was looking forward to attending but something happened in the last minute that really made it impossible for me to attend.

Trouble Over Bridged Water - 1989/1990

Jerry, Darryl and I (Brian) jumping off of a thirty-five foot (thirteen meters) bridge at Cambridge University in London, England after attending a lecture about Mary Shelley and Lady Ada Lovelace.

Just kidding. This bridge is really located in Northern Ontario, Canada and I'd highly recommend walking over the bridge first, rather than simply jumping off of it.

There were no digital cameras back then, so we had to snap pics and then develop them the old fashioned way, but that doesn't mean that if there's no pictures of you, that you don't exist anymore than if a tree falls in the forest, that it didn't make a sound. Subjectivity versus objectivity, and the very essence of Schrodinger's equation, considering that the observation problem of physics is one of the most discussed topics relating to objective collapse of the wave function, but that's a different story...

So, this post is to clear those issues up and to assure you all that I'll attend the next one, which I'm hoping will occur sometime near the winter holidays, or sometime in the new year (2025).

Don't worry Bopwhato, I'll make it up to you in some way shape or form. I miss you all. :-)

And yes, you heard right. I'm not a Mormon or a Jehovah's Witness with all due respect. I'm an Atheist that leans toward Buddhism and Taoism, without having to steal someone else's identity to be that.
